This site is under construction, like my life - and in fact myself. Welcome to a snapshot of the ideas which occupy my attention just now!

The word Reiki is Japanese in origin and means spiritually guided Life Force Energy. It is a very gentle form of "energy" work in which the Reiki Practitioner channels Universal Life Force Energy to the recipient through the hands. The practice originated in Japan early in this century and is taught following the Eastern traditions.

It is not necessary for the recipient of Reiki to believe in this energy for it to work.

It it is necessary for the recipient to be willing to receive the energy.

Reiki can do no harm..

It is not possible to send too much enegy to someone.  The transmission is actually directed by  the recipient.

It is her/his intention to receive the Reiki energies which opens the "gate".

The receiver literally draws the Universal Life Force Energy through the Reiki Practitioner's hands.

The Reiki goes where it is most needed and heals what  most needs healing next.

I have been trained in Usui Reiki Ryoho. I recently completed my Master Teacher level and I am currently working with my Teachers practicing with then through their office "Hearts and Hands", in Bath, Maine. We give private sessions, hold Reiki Circles (open to the public) and Reiki Shares (training and swap sessions for trained practitioners) as well as workshops for Usui Reiki Levels II, II, III and Master Teacher.

While I have not been trained, as yet, in any other healing modalities, I seem to have a gift for helping others "sort" issues. I am coming to recognize myself as an "Intuitive Sorter" and I am eager to see this gift unfold as I continue my own evolution with Reiki.

I am also a member of  the Baha'i Faith, one of the newer world religions, which holds the spiritual principle of Unity as basic to the growth of humanity at this time.

I would love to connect with others who are interested in Reiki. I am very happy to work with other practitioners and do Reiki Shares and Reiki Circles. I especially enjoy doing distance work.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF COMMUNITY:

From my study of the human energy field and my work with Reiki, I am coming to realize that it is not only those individuals who have been gifted with great responsibility, status, position, or fame in the spotlight of world attention, who can do great things to help humanity.

I have come to believe that those of us who work primarily in the context of the microcosim of our own individual lives can also have great effects on the healing of humanity.

Each time one of us recognizes the Light in a situation and acts on that impulse --- sends reiki, smiles at an older person, calms our temper, does a kindness, overcomes a bad habit, chooses the loving response, forgives another, etc., ---that person adds to the balance of Light in the world. The more we each recognize and support one another in these activities, the more we add, almost exponentially, to the balance of Light in our world. We can tip the balance. As we share our experiences, we confirm each other in these choices to move toward the Light. We can make it easier for the next person to choose the Light. This is an active path that each of us can take to help with the healing of humanity.

SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS SITE AND THE WORK IT DOES:

I just sat and read through the last 50 entries in the reikilinks guestbook. I was again amazed at the breadth of geographical and cultural backgrounds represented by those who took the time to post an entry. This confirmed my feelings that Reikilinks - ReikiAloha has provided a valuable service by giving "place" to the very real "meeting of minds" which is ongoing at this time on our planet.

To me, this site is a very important piece in the healing work being done at the global level.

Because I know that only a portion of the many who visit this site actually post an entry in the guestbook, I am sure that there are many, many more who share in the communication and community here than were reflected in either the guestbook or in the forum entries.

The site has also been very important to my personal growth - for the last several years it has provided a readily available on-line, 24 hour-a-day-accessible community/classroom/laboratory for experiments and growth. For which fact, I remain deeply grateful.
