Anyone used to Microsoft Office will notice the absence of e-mail and calendar functionality in OpenOffice.org.
I did a search on this topic and learned that the developers of OpenOffice.org are contributing to the development of the Mozilla Lightning project.
Mozilla Thunderbird was already installed on my computer; it is my e-mail client of choice. Since Lightning is an extension for Thunderbird, it was a simple matter to download it and installed it from within Thunderbird.
Although I had been using OpenOffice.org, I would still load Microsoft Outlook for the calendar view. I no longer need to do this, as I usually have Thunderbird loaded (now with Lightning integrated with it). My "Office" functionality is now complete.
