Yesterday, I posted info and links for DreamKana, a simple, standalone program which you can download and run from your (Windows) computer.
This morning, I began thinking of how to implement flash card functionality at this site.
I started off by writing the necessary routines in Perl, then linked these to an HTML page. The resulting quick fix works, but is far from elegant.
I then revisited Mark Rosenfelder's Kana Flashcards, which I liked, but only covered hiragana.
Looking at the source, Mark says "May be freely used and modified for non-commercial use (for commerical use, write me)."
I have modified his page, but left the original copyright details intact - giving credit where credit is due.
The following three pages are the results:
Hiragana Flash Cards
Katakana Flash Cards
Hiragana and Katakana Flash Cards (combined)
Thank you, Mark!
(Just to keep everything above board, I will now write him to explain what I have done - even though ours is a non-commercial site.)
